Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 4, 2026

This policy explains what information The Cat Post (thecatpost.com, “we”) collects, how we use it and the choices you have.

Information you give us

  • Contact and submission forms — your name, email address, message, and any story or photos you send. We use this to reply to you and, for submissions, to publish your story with your permission.
  • Newsletter — if you subscribe, your email address is stored with our email provider, MailerLite, and used only to send you our newsletter. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.

Information collected automatically

  • Analytics — we use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and how visitors find us. It uses cookies and collects data such as pages viewed, device type and approximate location.
  • Meta Pixel — we use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure the results of our Facebook activity and ads. Meta may use cookies to collect information about your visit.
  • Advertising — we may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. Learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
  • Affiliate links — when you click an affiliate link (for example to Amazon), the retailer may set a cookie to record that the visit came from us.
  • Server logs and security — our hosting and security tools record IP addresses and browser information to keep the site secure and working.

How we use information

To run and improve the site, respond to you, publish submissions you’ve given us permission to use, send newsletters you’ve asked for, measure our audience and show advertising. We do not sell your personal information.

Sharing

We share data only with the service providers that run the site: our hosting provider, Google (Analytics and AdSense), Meta, MailerLite and our email delivery service. Each processes data under its own privacy policy.

Your choices and rights

  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
  • You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.
  • You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information you sent us, including removing a published submission.
  • California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
  • Visitors from the EEA, UK and Switzerland will be asked for consent before personalized advertising cookies are used.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
